Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine, located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

 

Roster: 8D/ 6R – FIFO ex Perth

 

We are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our team at Christmas Creek on a family-friendly 8/6 roster. In this role, you will provide reliability engineering support, conduct data analysis, lead improvement and safety projects, and drive defect elimination for our Ore Processing Facility (OPF). Your expertise will help ensure sustained asset performance while meeting cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver reliability engineering support, including reviewing and implementing strategies to improve plant reliability and uptime.
  • Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions to minimise recurrence.
  • Complete defect elimination actions in collaboration with other departments and suppliers.
  • Provide breakdown support and reporting, including technical advice, recovery planning, and investigation/flash reports.
  • Support shutdowns by solving implementation issues and ensuring schedules are maintained.
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives (Eureka projects) to reduce operational expenditure.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Reliability Engineering or trade qualification with relevant industry experience as a Technical Officer.
  • Experience in a fixed plant or heavy industry environment (site-based Maintenance or Reliability experience preferred).
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, organisational, scheduling, and coordination skills.
  • Proficient in SAP and familiar with work management systems.
  • Competent in MS Office Suite and Navisworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
