Our Opportunity

Work Location: Cloudbreak mine site (Chichester Hub)

 

  • Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples

 

Roster: 4D/3R FIFO ex. Perth

 

This role will cover the Cloudbreak and Christmas Creek mine sites in the department of Water Management as part of the Chichester Hub Operations.

 

Reporting to the Superintendent Engineering at Chichester Water Management, the Reliability Engineer will proactively identify opportunities to improve assets effectiveness and utilisation to drive the key metrics in Safety, Cost and Performance.

The successful candidate for the role is a curious self-learner who writes and communicates with influence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Root Cause Analysis on site and champion implementation and imbedding of actions.
  • Implement and maintain systems for downtime tracking, including data integrity.
  • Develop and continuously improve on asset maintenance strategies based on learnings from RCAs and OEM recommendations.
  • Develop, maintain, and routinely communicate on equipment performance metrics.
  • Maintain equipment registers to inform and ensure SAP Master Data integrity.
  • Develop and maintain asset whole of life models for all key dewatering equipment.
  • Actively seek opportunities for equipment reliability improvement and lead implementation of defect elimination.
  • Provide technical support to operating and maintenance teams as the site equipment subject matter expert.
  • Actively engage with vendor SMEs to implement equipment improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in site reliability engineering role.
  • Previous experience implementing defect elimination process and facilitating root cause analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Industry and Australian Standards.
  • Working knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act/Regs.
  • Condition monitoring certification is desirable.
  • Reliability engineering certification is desirable.
  • Experience with submersible motors, centrifugal pumps and power generators and their applications is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in water management is highly desirable
