Location: Eliwana

Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama & Pinikura (PKKP) People. 

Eliwana is in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, 90 kilometres west of Tom Price. Alongside Solomon, Eliwana forms Fortescue’s Western Hub, providing a stand alone and complimentary product with Fortescue’s Chichester Hub.

Description:

Reporting to the Support Equipment Supervisor, the Heavy Road Transport Mechanic is responsible for carrying out maintenance activities on Light Vehicles, Buses, On Highway Trucks, Side Tippers and other Auxiliary Equipment, whilst adhering to safety standards at all times.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Providing safe, effective, and timely maintenance on Light Vehicle, On Highway Truck and Auxiliary equipment fleet
  • Willingness to learn new disciplines and skills to ensure the incoming Green Fleet transition has a Maintenance team with a ‘Never Ever Give Up’ attitude and capability to grow with new technology  
  • Complete scheduled maintenance and breakdown fault finding on a wide range of light vehicles, buses, on highway trucks and other diesel-powered auxiliary equipment
  • Completion of service reports and identification of parts requirements
  • Liaise with supervisor to ensure planned maintenance schedule is implemented in a timely fashion

Qualifications and Experience

  • Automotive Mechanical Trade Certificate essential
  • Experience with Toyota vehicles highly advantageous
  • Experience with Scania and Isuzu trucks highly advantageous
  • Automotive refrigerant handling license desirable
  • Forklift / High Risk ticket desirable
