Fortescue are seeking a highly experienced Senior Account Manager to lead the commercial relationship with our largest mining customers in Australia. 

 

 

This role is critical to managing our end-to-end engagement across fleet management systems, autonomous haulage, battery-electric solutions, aftermarket services, and warranty programs.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Act as the primary commercial contact for major mining customers
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders at executive and operational levels
  • Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing, contractual terms, aftermarket services, and warranty agreements
  • Coordinate cross-functionally across engineering, product, operations, and service teams
  • Deliver and articulate the value proposition of complex technologies (e.g., AHS, battery systems, digital platforms)
  • Proactively manage customer satisfaction, issue resolution, and performance reviews
  • Identify and drive growth opportunities within assigned accounts
  • Provide market intelligence and customer insight to support business development and product strategy.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in senior commercial or account management roles within the mining or heavy equipment sectors
  • Proven record managing large strategic accounts and delivering revenue growth
  • Deep understanding of mining equipment, operations, and support systems
  • Strong technical acumen, particularly in areas such as autonomy, battery-electric systems, and connected fleet technologies
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
  • Previous experience with major OEMs (e.g., Cummins, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Epiroc, Hitachi) is highly desirable
  • Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally internationally.
