Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Fortescue’s East Perth office, located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
 

Roster: Monday to Friday
 

Working as a Senior Analyst, as part of the Corporate Development team, you will work in a small high performing team and collaborate closely with other functions including Technical, Exploration, Strategy, Finance, Approvals, Heritage and Legal. In this role you will be accountable for supporting the Manager Corporate Development - Pilbara Engagement in driving successful third-party negotiations with other major mining companies in the Pilbara to support Fortescue’s existing and future life of operations plan. You will play a key role in business critical initiatives, including access agreements, tenement acquisitions, divestments, and other collaboration activities. This role will give you opportunity to use and develop a wide range of skills and requires a quick thinker and good collaborator.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with a range of internal stakeholders to conduct thorough analysis and risk assessments to guide strategic decision-making during negotiations.
  • Undertake valuation models and other financial assessments to determine the value of business critical requirements.
  • Lead research and option assessments in collaboration with internal subject matter experts to develop commercial solutions to Fortescue’s needs.
  • Assist with the preparation of high quality memorandums and presentations to inform senior decision-making.
  • Provide support for other Corporate Development initiatives as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Experience in corporate development, strategy, consulting or similar, preferably in resources, heavy industry, energy or infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, law, engineering, or related field.
  • Ability to synthesise complex issues and prepare high quality materials to support decision making.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills and strong financial and commercial acumen.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Supports the vision of Fortescue and can demonstrate alignment with our Values.
