Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist - Fortescue Zero Power Systems

As a Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist, you are someone who is passionate, honest, enthusiastic, and willing to step up to the challenge of being part of an innovative and achievement driven organisation.
Fortescue Zero is developing a range of zero-emission technologies to facilitate the decarbonisation of heavy industries, including Fortescue Metals’ mining operations. The product programs currently supported by the Perth Contracts and Procurement team include a heavy haul Battery Electric Locomotive as well as a portfolio of Fast Chargers for battery powered mobile equipment. This role is focussed on the Fast Charger portfolio.
The Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist will provide specialist procurement advice to the product program and support the development and execution of supply chain strategies. This role will involve management of sourcing projects, contract negotiations and supplier management activities for the Bill of Materials and specialised services required for prototyping and series production. This position would be best suited to an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a high level of flexibility, is strategic and proactive with strong stakeholder engagement abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing - development and end to end execution of procurement and supply chain strategies.
- Contract Negotiation - strategy development and negotiations for complex, high risk and high value contracts.
- Contract Management - implementing effective contract management processes.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) - delivering value, and mitigating supply chain risks, through effective management of strategic supplier relationships.
- Category and Commodity Management - maximising value by leveraging Fortescue Zero’s “whole of business” demand in the development of sophisticated category and commodity strategies.
- Governance and Risk Management - ensuring product program objectives are met through effective governance, compliance management and the identification, assessment, and treatment of risk.
- Analysis & reporting - effective analysis and reporting of relevant data at all stages of the procurement lifecycle.
Qualifications and Experience
- 7+ years experience in a fast-paced procurement function - experience within a product development, manufacturing or project delivery environment will be highly regarded
- Effective self-management skills with an ability to efficiently prioritise effort across multiple projects.
- Leadership capability and the capacity to mentor and develop team members.
- Show a level of resilience to change and challenging circumstances.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen through your professional experience to date.
- A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business, Commerce, Law, Engineering or similar is desirable.
