Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth CBD office located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday (flexible hours, with childcare creche available in the Perth office).

Reporting to the Superintendent Engineering Electrical, the Senior Control Systems Engineer is focused on Fortescue's Site Capital Projects, Energy Operations and NPI Projects. This position provides critical support as a subject matter expert surrounding developing Fortescue's specifications and standards, as well as asset integrity assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the operational site in all aspects of plant process control systems, network maintenance and development
- Perform PLC and SCADA programming/configuration changes for upgrade projects or identified operational improvements
- Providing support (troubleshooting) as required to ensure operating plant downtime is minimised and plant integrity is not compromised
- Identifying changes to plant and/or procedures which will contribute to cost reduction and improved efficiency of operation
- Control systems detail design reviews
- Preferable experience with Siemens and GE/Emerson PLCs, Monarch and Cimplicity Scada
- Contribution to Fortescue Specifications and Standards development
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer science
- Previous experience in a heavy industrial or mining environment
- Functional Safety TUV Certification
- Experience with SCADA configuration and development
- Experience with PLC and programming and fault-finding
- Previous experience in project support
- Great problem-solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
