Fortescue is currently undertaking a rapid expansion and are seeking applications for a Senior Document Controller.

 

The primary role of this position is to coordinate and facilitate the accurate recording, storing, maintenance and continual improvement of Fortescue documentation in accordance with Fortescue policies and regulations. Additionally, this role will contribute to the development and management of document control systems and processes to streamline and manage all document control flow for projects/departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Master Fortescue’s document control system and processes, serving as a pro-active champion to ensure Fortescue’s document requirements are understood and met.
  • Monitor project/corporate registers and document management systems to ensure the accuracy of documents, drawings, scope, and design variations.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders including contractors, suppliers, OEMs, and project partners, to facilitate alignment with project standards and the seamless delivery of documentation.
  • Coordinate and facilitate contractor kick-off and ongoing engagement meetings to ensure understanding of, and alignment to, Fortescue’s document control requirements. Act as Interface to support document control related queries between Fortescue’s project team and contractors, suppliers, OEMs, and project partners.
  • Implement documentation quality control standards and processes, aligning them with Fortescue standards, to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Facilitate access, training, and support to project team members on document management processes and systems/tools.
  • Facilitate controlled and managed data and document transfers among stakeholder organisations, including Fortescue, partners, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Provide document control reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience working in project document control within for the Renewables, Oil and Gas, Mining, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience utilising the document control systems and processes for large-scale, complex capital projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with Omega PIMS Document Management system.
  • Sound understanding of document control systems, methodologies, processes, and techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills when working with business stakeholders for effective collaboration and conveying document management needs. This includes the ability to build alliances and seek cross-functional support, indicating a talent for working with diverse teams to achieve common goals.
  • Strong attention to detail including excellent fault-finding skills and the ability to solve practical problems.
  • High level of computer skill with advanced Microsoft Word and MS Office package abilities.
