Roster: Monday-Friday 

 

We are seeking a highly motivated mining professional to join our Strategic Mine Planning team. Reporting to the Principal, Strategic Mine Planning, this role is primarily responsible for maintaining and updating near mine developments & potential greenfield operations the business and assist in carrying out high level assessments, due diligence, conceptual mine planning and evaluations across a variety of commodities and mining and processing styles. This role interacts with includes operations, long term planning, life of mine planning, operations readiness, approvals and commercial team

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Drive and own the allocated near mine studies and site expansion projects
  • Construct project schedules and scopes based on long-term planning requirements, ensuring the planning horizons are aligned in regards to development priorities.
  • Engage with stakeholders & co-ordinate timely delivery of inputs and subsequent outputs required for site deployment.
  • Develop budgets and cost estimations for development projects.
  • Participate in strategic option analysis of potential future projects and assist with assessment of opportunities in various commodities, both operational and greenfield.
  • Apply appropriate planning & mine design techniques to generate long term & operational mine plans.
  • Timely and effective communication of outputs to the broader business.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Experience in mine planning and project evaluation for variety of commodities, in different geological settings and deposit types
  • Experience in site development, operations readiness or similar.
  • Knowledge of approvals and other license-to-operate requirements in the above settings 
  • Experience in cost modelling and various project evaluation techniques
  • Experience in infrastructure capital and operating cost estimation
  • Understanding of various mineral processing techniques used in a variety of commodities and major drivers of processing design
  • Strong computer proficiency with experience in Minemax Scheduler or equivalent schedule optimization tools, MS Office, Vulcan, ArcGIS , Power-BI or Tableau
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Confident communication skills – verbal and written ; Report writing skills
  • Team orientation and strong ability to take the initiative
