Senior Maintenance Planner
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth, Western Australia. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday - with ad-hoc site travel
The Senior Maintenance Planner is responsible for leading the planning and scheduling function to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance of Fortescue’s Non-Process Infrastructure assets.
Based in Perth with occasional site travel, this role provides leadership to a team of Maintenance Planners and Material Logistics Officers, ensuring maintenance activities are effectively planned, resourced, and executed in line with Fortescue’s standards and statutory obligations. Working closely with operations, engineering, and asset management teams, the position drives best-practice maintenance planning, continuous improvement, and data integrity within SAP to support asset reliability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- 
Lead a team of multi-skilled Maintenance Planners and Material Logistics Officers
 - 
Ensure compliance with Fortescue standards and statutory obligations, embedding processes within SAP
 - 
Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and foster a positive team culture
 - 
Act as a key link between stakeholders to maintain and improve master data in line with FMG standards
 - 
Provide accurate and concise reporting on key maintenance metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement
 - 
Work collaboratively with Long-Term Planners, Engineers, and Asset Management teams to implement maintenance strategies in SAP
 - 
Partner with reliability and asset management teams to identify and eliminate recurring defects
 - 
Deliver technical training and guidance to planners, execution teams, and other workgroups
 - 
Manage quarterly maintenance budgeting, forecasting, and cost reconciliation activities
 - 
Lead and support business improvement initiatives to optimise planning performance and efficiency
 
Qualifications and Experience
- 
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Senior Maintenance Planner role or 5 years in a Maintenance Planning role
 - 
Proven leadership skills with a values-based approach and strong people engagement
 - 
Advanced proficiency in SAP and a sound understanding of work management principles
 - 
Strong knowledge of the Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Acts/Regulations
 - 
Demonstrated analytical, organisational, and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
 - 
Experience in budgeting, cost control, and maintenance forecasting
 - 
Advanced computer literacy and reporting capability
 - 
Relevant Maintenance Management qualifications highly regarded
