Fortescue’s Pilbara Mining Operations offers a leadership opportunity to transform safety excellence across a centralized mining operation. As Senior Manager Health & Safety, you will drive a proactive, data-led safety culture, mentor high-performing teams, and embed risk management at the core of operations. With executive oversight, regulatory expertise, and strategic influence, you will shape industry best practices and ensure workplace well-being in one of Australia’s leading mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Empower, mentor and lead a high-performing health and safety team, embedding a strong safety culture across all operational levels.
• Ensure adherence to Western Australian legislation, driving a proactive health and safety approach to minimise risk and enhance workplace wellbeing.
• Oversee risk management and assurance processes across mining operations, driving continuous improvement in health and safety standards.
• Govern and support health and safety reporting across mining operations, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
• Cultivate strong relationships with internal leadership and stakeholders to promote safety excellence and collaboration.
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive experience leading health and safety teams within large-scale mining operations.
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Science with deep occupational health and safety regulatory knowledge.
- Track record of delivering measurable improvements in safety culture, leadership maturity, and performance outcomes.
- Ability to develop and execute high-impact safety initiatives that align with business objectives.
- Skilled at building trusted relationships at all levels from frontline teams to executive leadership.
