The Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications will develop and execute strategies to drive awareness and growth across traditional and digital channels.  This role is responsible for the oversight and delivery of five key disciplines within the communication team; including marketing, digital, social, design and video. This role will work closely with Creative Strategist who is responsible for the creative concept development and brand alignment and the Fortescue Zero Marketing Manager. This includes overseeing integrated campaigns, managing SEO, SEM, social media, and content marketing, ensuring brand consistency, and leading a marketing team. The role also involves analysing performance metrics, conducting market research, and optimising campaigns for improved results.The ideal candidate will be skilled in strategic thinking, digital marketing tools, and data-driven decision-making, with a proven ability to lead teams and deliver successful campaigns.

 

As a global business, this role will manage and work alongside team members in multiple time zones, requiring a flexible working approach in a high pressure environment. Strong communication, project management, and content creation skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of the marketing and brand landscape. Strong experience in team management and stakeholder engagement is critical.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the development and execution of brand strategies to enhance brand awareness and loyalty.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all channels.
  • Oversee digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, SEM, social media, and content marketing.
  • Manage digital marketing and communication channels to drive engagement, traffic, and conversions.
  • Create and implement content strategies across websites, blogs, and social media.
  • Lead and mentor a team of digital marketing specialists, designers, videographers and content creators.
  • Ensure the team collaborates effectively with other areas of the global Communications team.
  • Lead the organisations brand marketing strategy development and implementation.
  • Conduct market research to inform brand and digital strategies and optimise campaigns.
  • Analyse performance metrics, report insights, and recommend improvements to senior leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; Master's preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in brand management and digital marketing, with at least five years in leadership.
  • Proven success in executing multi-channel brand and digital marketing strategies.
  • Expertise in digital marketing tools (Google Analytics, SEO/SEM, social media management).
  • Strong project management and leadership skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Creative, strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and email marketing platforms.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
