Senior Mine Planning Engineer- Long Term Planning

Roster: Monday-Friday
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join our Long Term Mine Planning team. Reporting to the Principal Mining Engineer – Long term planning, this role is responsible for carrying out activities to support the 10-Year Mine plans within the Iron Ore operations portfolio.
To be successful in this role candidates must have strong interpersonal skills with good understanding of both operational and mine planning functions within the mining industry, including the technical and support functions that support these areas. The candidate will possess strong technical skills and being able to articulate potential risks and opportunities within the planned works to the relevant stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the 10-Year mine plan and associated deliverables for our Pilbara iron ore operations.
- Manage long term mine designs with mine designing engineers to support long term mine plan and mining approval application of mining activities.
- Endeavour to improve current long term planning process and long-term mine design process with new technology and innovation.
- Undertake ad-hoc minor project mine planning work for operational sites in the Pilbara region.
- The role will also interact with internal operational and functional stakeholders and will be expected to effectively communicate with these teams.
- Site travel as required
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mining or similar)
- Practical and solutions focused approach to mine planning and design problems.
- Experience in long term mine planning and mining studies (preferably in Iron ore). Operational and site mine planning experience is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with both operations and technical teams
- Team orientation and strong ability to take initiative to solve problems with critical thinking.
- Computer proficiency (Excel, MS Office, Vulcan)
- Experience on Alastri software’s (ATS) is preferred.
