Work Location: Perth – Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people

Roster: Monday to Friday

 

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join our Long-Term Planning Team. Reporting to the Principal Mine Engineer – Long-Term Planning, this role is responsible for developing and updating the five-year mine plan in line with the approved Life-of-Mine Plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, prepare, and deliver the five-year mine plan in alignment with the approved Life-of-Mine Plan, identifying improvement and optimisation opportunities
  • Communicate and liaise with relevant stakeholders to present and discuss planning outcomes
  • Undertake mine design work, including internal and external waste dump designs, and all other infrastructure designs required for the five-year plan
  • Support project and scenario studies as required 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of four years’ experience
  • Experience in open pit mining, preferably within the iron ore sector
  • Strong understanding of medium to long-term mine planning, scheduling, and mine design principles
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in mining software such as ATS and Vulcan
  • Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative and results-driven approach
