We are actively seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join our team in the role of Senior Mining Engineer - Drill and Blast. Reporting to the Superintendent - Short Term Planning, this position presents an exciting opportunity for individuals to contribute to our operations in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the recruitment, development, and performance management of the Drill and Blast Engineering Team, with a commitment to fostering the professional growth of all team members.
- Oversight and management of the drill and blast design process with a focus on optimising drill productivity and fragmentation.
- Provide technical expertise to Mining Operations Supervisors, ensuring effective management of drilling and blasting activities, including cavity and heritage management.
- Contribution to Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and two-year plans as needed, with a dedication to capturing diverse perspectives to deliver the best result.
- Coordinate the timely delivery of drill pattern preparation to meet weekly and monthly goals.
- Providing input into and assisting in managing the Drill and Blast budget.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Mining and Drill & Blast Engineering.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Drill & Blast Engineering and mining operations.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience leading diverse teams in dynamic environments is advantageous.
- Extensive exposure to Drill & Blast software, where proficiency in Vulcan, Blast Logic by Maptek, and Viewshot by Dyno Nobel considered highly desirable.
- Experience with Blast Vibration monitoring and assessment is preferred.
