Our Opportunity

 

Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

 

Roster: 8D6R FIFO ex Perth

 

 

The role will be responsible for guiding the metallurgy team in providing technical guidance and process engineering solutions, evaluating process improvements, working closely with site operations teams, Process Control Engineers and Integrated Operations Centre teams based at the Iron Bridge Ore Processing Facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver solutions to existing operational challenges regarding safety, process, yield or upgrade
  • Engaging all stakeholders to understand and identify business needs
  • Develop standard reports for presenting process engineering outcomes
  • Work closely with mine planning, Process Control & Hive operations to improve process plant control and provide oversight to implementation of PIDs
  • Driving short term metallurgical accounting and production planning
  • Generate and/or approve process related deliverables and documentation for process optimisation and delivery
  • Ensure correct application of Health & Safety standards
  • Oversee technical quality, integrity and adequacy of process changes, adherence for Management of Change
  • Guiding a team of metallurgist and metallurgical technicians to achieve required outcomes

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or similar discipline
  • 3 - 5 years in mineral processing industry with direct operational / technical development experience with producer
  • Over 2 years process engineering experience on major mineral processing projects working on materials handling, crushing, screening and wet beneficiation process plant (especially physical separation unit processes)
  • Demonstrated experience in most major components of process plant operation and optimisation
  • Strong leadership, conceptual thinking and analytical focus with practical alignment to reality
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and continual improvement focus
  • Proven capability to effectively communicate, engage across all levels
