Work Location: Perth – Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people, some adhoc site travel would be expected

 

Roster: Monday to Friday

 

To support Fortescue’s Decarbonisation Strategy to achieve net-zero emissions, there is a need to provide permanent power and supporting infrastructure to enable the electrification of key mining equipment across our operations.

 

We have an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join Fortescue’s Major Projects team to support our Decarbonisation journey and lead the delivery of key infrastructure projects including:

 

  • Network powerline infrastructure
  • Heavy Mobile Equipment charging facilities
  • Light and specialist mobile equipment charging systems
  • In pit electrification of mining equipment
  • Electrification of existing fixed infrastructure assets

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Management of a team of project delivery resources across a site
  • Effective delivery and management of a portfolio of electrical infrastructure project/s
  • Stakeholder management of internal and external stakeholders at various levels
  • Drive schedule improvements to reduce delivery timeframes safely
  • Deliver cost and capital effective solutions to improve the project’s capital intensity whilst delivering the projects scope on time and within budget
  • Provide reporting and communications of project performance
  • Portfolio estimation and management of financial funding process
  • Effective contractor management throughout the whole contract lifecycle
  • Interpret and implement engineering design discipline and specifications
  • Identify opportunities to implement innovative solutions.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Extensive Project Management experience including the delivery of medium to large, complex and multi discipline projects >10 years’ experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or other relevant mining or utility industry experience
  • Experience with managing teams, direct reports
  • Demonstrated experience with project budgeting, estimating, cost control and monthly forecasting
  • Demonstrated experience in site execution managing multiple contractor groups
  • Ability to successfully engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal awareness with ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence
  • Results driven, responsible and accountable
  • Ability to manage under pressure and adapt quicky to change
  • Great problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the mining industry across power distribution would be well regarded.
