Senior Structural Engineer

Our Opportunity

Work Location:  Hedland. Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

Roster:  4D/3R FIFO ex Perth

Seeking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our engineering team on a 4/3 roster ex Perth. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing, guiding and mentoring a team of Engineers and Drafters, ensuring high-quality project and technical delivery, and driving the day to day deliveries on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, analysis, and assessment of various structural elements including concrete structures, steel structures, and earth structures.
• Conduct site inspections, investigations, and condition assessments of existing structures.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Manage project budgets and timelines effectively.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and advancements in structural engineering.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive and demonstrated experience in structural engineering, preferably within the mining industry.
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards and relevant codes of practice.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
