Work Location: Perth, WA. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Technical Architect position is responsible for proactively engaging with internal functions and technical teams to understand business and technical requirements. The Architect works within the Metals Technology pillar as the solution lead on new demands, projects and solution designs. By leveraging their broad technology experience, architecture principles and Fortescue standards, the Senior Technical Architect will then present compelling proposals and solutions to deliver a successful business outcome for Fortescue.
You will work closely with across business and technology teams to design and implement comprehensive technology change programs that enable Fortescue Metals broader strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand company needs to define system specifications.
- Plan and design technology solutions that meet specific business, commercial, infrastructure or functional requirements.
- Evaluate and select appropriate software or hardware and suggest integration methods.
- Technically oversee assigned projects and provide guidance to team members.
- Assist with solving technical problems when they arise.
- Monitor systems to ensure they meet both user needs and business goals.
- Partner closely with external partners and internal stakeholders to develop a strong consultative relationship providing fit for purpose advice and support.
- Contribute to the broader organisational Architecture community within Fortescue and with building a ‘centre of excellence’.
Qualifications and Experience
- 10+ years demonstrable architectural experience developing and delivering complex solutions.
- Relevant tertiary or post-graduate qualification in an Information Technology or Computer Science field (preferred).
- Certification in The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) - highly desired
- ignificant experience in presales, design, and implementation of technology solutions particularly in the Mining & Resources sector.
- Proven experience delivering organisational change and engaging with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- The ability to engage people across at all levels of business and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Blend of technical, commercial, and consulting experience.
- Proven ability to create compelling proposals and value propositions.
