Roster: Monday to Friday

 

 

This position responsible for working with a team of multi-disciplinary engineering professionals. They will be required to support and complete technical works including design and technical assurance for projects involving water treatment (including desalination), wastewater treatment and water systems management. They will analyse water quantity and quality data to assess their risk factors and advise on the technical solutions for project developments. They will also prepare technical documentation supporting environmental documentation for water resources, regulatory program compliance, data management and analysis, and water sampling programmes.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Collection and analysis of water data (such as water quantity and quality information) to inform studies and engineering design including review of water monitoring and laboratory data
  • Providing advice and information to study teams on water treatment and wastewater handling, treatment and disposal considerations that influence design, construction, and maintenance, of engineered facilities including water sampling investigations, water quality assessments and other related water management studies
  • Provide analysis of options for, and participate in the design of, water treatment processes and wastewater management and disposal
  • Risk assessment of water and wastewater management and related natural hazards
  • Managing and liaising with a range of project stakeholders including construction engineers, consultants, contractors, manufacturers and vendors
  • Assist in preparation of construction plans, specifications and cost estimates related to water treatment and wastewater treatment
  • Engagement with vendors and suppliers to assess feasibility of designs for water treatment and wastewater treatment plants
  • Compilation of design documentation including BFDs, PFDs and HMBs
  • Prepare technical documents summarizing recommendations and work performed to a high standard
  • Keep abreast of current water and wastewater technology and provide high technical expertise and innovation in design and procurement of projects
  • Provide support to a diverse team of professionals across multiple parts of the value chain.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental or Civil Engineering)
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or eligible to apply
  • Prior experience in a similar role preferably in the mining industry, water utility or complex environments
  • Minimum 8-years experience
  • Demonstrated experience in managing interdisciplinary project teams with strong leadership skills
  • Detailed knowledge of chemical water treatment, desalination, and wastewater treatment to participate in design development and review
  • Demonstrated experience in water quality management and water quality processing
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in collaboration with other like-minded team members and adjacent project teams (also delivering a variation of the system)
  • Experience with mass balances, RO projections, equipment selection and sizing, water system planning and infrastructure design
  • A strong capability in adapting to multidisciplinary requirements in particular communicating a range of water treatment concepts to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong data management and manipulation skills, with excellent computer literacy skills
  • Strong team skills and willingness to travel for short periods.
