Our Opportunity

Work Location: Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

 

Roster: 8D6X FIFO ex Perth or DIDO ex Port Hedland

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Shotfirer to join our Drill and Blast team at Iron Bridge. Reporting to the Drill and Blast Supervisor, you will be required to provide sufficient quantity and quality of blasted stock for mining or processing and, ensure all drill and blast activities are conducted in a safe and cost-efficient manner.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Promote rigorous compliance to Zero Harm principles on a daily basis ensuring that all works completed are risk assessed and hazards mitigated whilst being adequately controlled
  • Operation of machinery in a safe and efficient manner ensuring all associated equipment is maintained to a high standard
  • Ensuring a high standard of all blast patterns
  • Explosive Magazine compliance
  • Leading/ Delegating on bench blast team
  • Completing daily explosive usage forms
  • Post Blast reporting

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Dangerous Goods Security Clearance
  • Current WA Shotfirer's Licence
  • Proven experience within the mining industry; mobile equipment operation experience highly desirable
  • Knowledge of:
    • Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act/Regulations
    • Australian standards AS-2187.1, AS-2187.2
    • Dangerous Goods Safety Act and Dangerous Goods Safety (SSAN) and (Explosives) Regulations
  • Dyno Digishot electronic blasting system desired  
  • Nonel Experience
  • Experience with loading and firing 30m presplits
