Our Opportunity

Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

 

 

Roster: 8D 6R FIFO ex Perth or BIBO Port Hedland.

 

 

We are currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced Shotfirer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all drill and blast activities are carried out in a safe, compliant, and cost-efficient manner. Reporting to the Drill and Blast Supervisor, you will contribute to the delivery of sufficient quality and quantity of blasted stock for mining and processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate behaviours that align with FMG’s values.
  • Comply with Zero Harm principles at all times.
  • Achieve daily operational targets.
  • Carry out duties as directed by the Drill & Blast Supervisory Team.
  • Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain all associated equipment in a safe condition.
  • Ensure drill & blast patterns are executed and maintained to a high standard.
  • Apply techniques and procedures that improve performance and cost efficiency

Qualifications and Experience

  • WA Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Dangerous Goods Security Clearance.
  • Current WA Shotfirer’s Licence.
  • Experience operating mobile equipment in the mining industry – desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including effective two-way communication.
  • Knowledge of the Mine Safety & Inspection Act and OHS legislation.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
