Shutdown Coordinator
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Eliwana - Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.
Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth
Reporting to the Shutdown Superintendent, the Shutdown Coordinator’s role is to deliver safe and successful shutdown campaigns, including shutdown execution, scope management and vendor engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a strong safety commitment in line with the Fortescue values
- Plan shutdown execution framework within a planning rhythm, working closely with asset owners, planning department and shutdown schedulers
- Develop resource requirements and engage vendor partners for all shutdown outages
- Manage asset reliability with maintenance tasks by engaging with the asset owners and planning against budgetary requirements
- Management of vendor resources ensuring safety of personnel, quality of work completed and managing completion against planned and scheduled maintenance
- Review and optimise shutdown scopes
- Lead the execution of shutdowns
Qualifications and Experience

- Previous experience in shutdowns and mechanical maintenance within a fixed plant processing facility leading trade personnel
- Strong understanding of both production and maintenance strategies for large scale processing plant
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Ability to work cohesively in a highly dynamic team environment
- Demonstrate excellent time management, and the ability to meet deadlines and milestones
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft office and computerised maintenance management systems, SAP experience is desirable
- Mechanical Trade Qualification
