Structural Compliance Engineer

Our Opportunity

Work Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

Roster: 8D6R or 4D3R FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Engineer to join our Solomon Statutory Risk and Compliance Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in safeguarding the integrity of our mining assets and ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.

As a Statutory Structural Compliance Engineer, you will:

• Lead the structural integrity management of critical assets across Solomon Mine.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and site-specific risk management obligations.
• Monitor, assess and report on structural defects, risks and performance trends.
• Collaborate closely with operational, maintenance and engineering teams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvements.
• Support the development and execution of the Statutory Risk and Compliance Program to maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct statutory inspections, audits and compliance reporting for structural assets.
• Provide technical engineering advice and ensure defect rectification strategies are executed effectively.
• Develop and maintain asset risk registers and defect tracking systems.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory documentation and liaison with regulatory bodies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen structural compliance and risk management frameworks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or progress toward accreditation highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance requirements in the mining/resources sector.
• Experience in asset integrity, defect management and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and strong report writing skills.
• Hold a manual current drivers licence.
