Our Opportunity

 

Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

 

Roster: 4/3, 8/6 (aligning with shutdowns)

 

Leading a highly capable Electrical Maintenance team across the Christmas Creek ore processing facilities, you will be at the forefront of the safe delivery of asset performance through weekly planned maintenance, effective breakdown response and longer-term strategies to ensure the Christmas Creek operations ore processing deliverables are met.

Key Responsibilities

 

The scope of work is as challenging as it is diverse. Success in this role will rely upon the engagement of and influence over key stakeholders, at all levels of the supply chain. Leveraging the vast skillsets and extensive experience of your team, your focus will include:

 

  • Driving a strong electrical safety culture across site.
  • Leading, developing and coaching supervisors, coordinators, tradespeople and apprentices.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the team in the implementation of improvement initiatives and technical advances.
  • Developing and controlling approved budget to deliver cost-effective services that meet the business needs while ensuring compliance with the relevant statutory legislative.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Australian Recognised Electrical Trade Qualification.
  • Current WA 'A' class electrical workers licence and Nominees ticket.
  • High voltage ticket and experience with HV Switching highly regarded.
  • Proven experience at a superintendent level, preferably within an iron ore processing environment.
  • Able to display good understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements of the electrical trade in a mining environment.
  • Understanding of PLC, Instrumentation and control communication systems and Variable Speed Drives.
  • Competent understanding of electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systems.
  • Demonstrated competency in use of SAP.
