Our Opportunity

Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge and CHF site are located on the traditional lands of Nyamal and Kariyarra people

 

 

Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth 

 

 

Reporting to the HSES Manager at Fortescue's Iron Bridge Site, you will be responsible for supporting site operations at Iron Bridge, Concentrate Handling Facility (CHF) and at Shay Gap Pumping station and assisting with the implementation of Health & Safety Management Systems to ensure continual improvement in a dynamic mining environment. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of safety, medical and emergency services functions
  • Coaching Senior and line management in all aspects of Health & Safety excellence
  • Participating in the control of identified hazards where appropriate
  • Facilitate safety investigations and implement harm minimisation strategies
  • Coordinate the continuous improvement and compliance of our Health & Safety Management Systems.
  • Support line management to ensure that all safety requirements are adhered to, in compliance with all statutory regulations
  • Be actively involved in the Fortescue Contractor Management Audit process
  • Liaise with line management, consultants and Government bodies
  • Assist the operations with Fortescue's Incident Management System
  • Actively participate in the implementation of the Fortescue Major Hazard Program

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated Safety Lead/Superintendent experience
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health, Health, Safety, Hygiene or equivalent post graduate qualifications
  • Experience in Risk Management
  • Previous experience in the Mining or Construction industry will be highly regarded
  • Safety Auditing qualification (Lead Auditor) and an awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
  • Demonstrated experience in contractor management
  • Demonstrated experience in ICAM investigations
  • Experience in procedure development
  • Strong analytical skills, data presentation and reporting skills
  • Experience in project management would be highly regarded
  • Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers License or equivalent
