Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Christmas Creek, located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

 

Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth, Karratha, Broome and Busselton.

 

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Manager, this key leadership role within Fortescue’s Christmas Creek Mobile Maintenance team is responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of qualified technicians, including autonomous technicians and tyre fitters, to safely deliver world-class equipment availability and reliability. Success in this position requires a commitment to excellence through consistent demonstration of Fortescue’s values and proactive visual leadership

 

Fortescue has committed to becoming the world’s first heavy industry company to achieve real zero emissions by 2030, eliminating fossil fuel use across our iron ore operations. As part of this transformation, the autonomy system on the fleet will be upgraded, and this role will play a key part in supporting the rollout of green fleet technology while adapting maintenance practices as the innovative systems are introduced.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain fleet availability above KPI targets.
  • Review weekly plan of service and backlog repairs.
  • Create a safe workplace by verifying personnel are properly trained and competent.
  • Ensure adherence to maintenance plans, budgets and the availability and reliability of equipment on site.
  • Providing strategic direction on mobile equipment maintenance strategies and improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership by inspiring, mentoring, and developing the team to achieve high performance standards.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Extensive knowledge in Mobile Maintenance with proven leadership experience at the supervisor or superintendent level.
  • Exposure to Fleet Management Systems, Autonomy and supporting technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability across leadership and team development.
  • A strong background and technical understanding on a range of large-scale mining equipment.
  • Knowledge of Mines Regulations and Act and Occupational, Health and Safety legislation and other relevant legislation and regulations.
