Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth CBD office located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday (flexible hours, with childcare creche available in the Perth office).

Material Readiness Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the preservation of materials, managing offsite parts repairs process and handling warranty claims to ensure material availability for mining operations. The role requires a proactive approach to maintain material reliability, minimize downtime and optimise operational costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and mentor team members to ensure delivery against performance targets, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
- Forecast operational requirements, resources, supplies and materials required to maintain preservation activities
- Lead the development and regular review of material preservation strategy for the business to ensure longevity of critical components
- Coordinate repair and refurbishment of parts, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions
- Oversee warranty claims and processes, ensuring maximum return for the business
- Liaise with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to resolve warranty issues and secure replacements or repairs
- Ensure maintenance of detailed records of preservation, offsite repairs and warranty claims activities and approvals, as well as regular reporting to various stakeholder groups
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in team building and leadership
- Experience in material preservation, inventory management, parts repair and/or warranty management
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Understanding of materials and services being managed, including their technical specifications and common reliability and performance issues
- Knowledge of quality control processes and methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or supply chain management desirable
