Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

 

Roster: 4D/3R (Tues – Fri) – FIFO Ex Perth

 

Fortescue is on the lookout for a driven leader for our Mine Development team who oversees civil and capital projects while managing the cable crew responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure for electric diggers. Join us in shaping a culture that challenges conventions and prioritises safety.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Championing adherence to HSES standards and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with Fortescue standards and statutory obligations.
  • Setting transparent expectations, offering continuous team feedback, and leading by example.
  • Overseeing mine development, including civil and capital works.
  • Guaranteeing timely delivery of inputs from upstream and external suppliers.
  • Collaborating with technical services to optimise project outcomes.
  • Driving and implementing improvement programs across operations and various functions.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Strong leadership experience in a mining or civil environment.
  • Proven track record in supervising and leading operational teams.
  • Proficiency in SAP, BMS, or similar data/reporting systems.
  • Thorough understanding of Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act/Regulations.
  • Exceptional organisational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of finance and budgeting.
