Our Opportunity
Work Location: Eliwana / Flying Fish; Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people, located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, 90 kilometres west of Tom Price.
Roster: 4/3, 4/3, 4/3 & 8/6
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Manager, you will oversee the safety, supervision & support of your teams to deliver an highly effective maintenance department. This role enables the introduction of a greater integrated strategy of Green Fleet across Eliwana, new Fleet Management System (Fortex) across all Mining fleet plus support incoming technology around Autonomy to be successful. You will do this via developing a team who’s execution of the maintenance schedule, safely and to statutory requirements specific to the management of the HME fleet at Eliwana Mine. You will leverage your operational knowledge to build on Eliwana’s culture and success while using your experience to lead our values and culture of continuous improvement.
Fortescue recently unveiled its roadmap to becoming the world’s first heavy industry company to go green by 2030, aiming to eliminate fossil fuel use and achieve real zero emissions (scope 1 and 2) across our iron ore operations. Eliwana will be the first operation in Fortescue and the world to shift to green iron operations. Your role will include support of the role out of green fleet technology and adapting the maintenance team plus infrastructure as green innovative technology becomes available
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance, coaching and direction to maintenance personnel as part of that new scope and new work – operational readiness.
- Lead teams across the installation and upkeep of all Fleet Management Systems and Autonomy based systems.
- Support Maintenance Service group who are responsible for Tyre Management, Toolstore and Technician support.
- Develop team site Readiness and Capability in New Technology to Transition our Fleet to Green.
- Lead Planning teams on daily/weekly/long term to support Maintenance strategies.
- Adapting to innovative technologies and support the introduction of future Green Fleet Transition. Focused leadership on risk management and promoting a safety culture
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade or Engineering Base
- Exposure to Fleet Management Systems, Autonomy and Supporting technical teams in the product support of FMS systems.
- Demonstrated ability across leadership and team development.
- A strong background and technical understanding of a range of large-scale mining equipment
- Extensive knowledge in Mobile Maintenance with proven leadership experience at the supervisor or superintendent level.
- Ability to Project Manage incoming work groups and support change management framework.
- Strong background in heavy mobile maintenance and equipment lifecycle/strategies SAP Planning function.
- Knowledge of Mines Regulations and Act and Occupational, Health and Safety legislation and other relevant legislation and regulations
- Planning and scheduling experience and an ability to understand work at a detailed level.
