We are seeking an experienced Training Superintendent to oversee the development and delivery of training programs that align with Fortescue's operational and safety standards. This role will lead a team of training professionals, ensuring the continuous improvement of workforce capabilities across our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in training management, a deep understanding of the mining industry, and a passion for empowering teams to excel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the training team, ensuring effective planning, development, and implementation of training initiatives.
  • Oversee the delivery of training programs across a variety of operational functions including safety, machinery operation, and leadership development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HR, operations, and safety teams, to identify training needs and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory training requirements and industry best practices.
  • Maintain training records and track employee progress to ensure certifications and competencies are up to date.
  • Develop and manage the training budget and resources effectively.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and continuously improve content and delivery methods.
  • Promote a culture of safety, high performance, and continuous learning within the workforce.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Education, Training, or a related field (preferred).
  • Significant experience in training or learning and development, ideally within the mining or heavy industry sector.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
  • Strong knowledge of training methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards within the mining industry.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong focus on safety and operational excellence.
