Our Opportunity
Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples
Roster: 7D7N14R - FIFO ex Perth
Reporting to the Superintendent Mobile Maintenance Ancillary, the Supervisor role will oversee heavy equipment maintenance related activities on our fleet of 130T, 280T and 450 Panther Floats; 993K, 994H, 994K and WA1200-6 Loaders; 16M,18M and 24M Graders, D10/T and PR776 Dozers & 854K Wheeled Dozers.
The Supervisor will ensure all Fortescue contractors and subcontractors maintenance personnel are compliant to Fortescue HSE procedures and ensure all mobile equipment is maintained as per OEM recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all maintenance activities meet the required Fortescue HSE standards and procedures.
- Promote safety and compliance of all maintenance related activities on Ancillary HME fleet, and the personnel associated with them.
- Understand, meet and comply with relevant health and safety legislation and statutory requirements as per your Schedule 26 appointment.
- Assist and advise Superintendent and Perth Management on any gaps or non-compliance related to maintenance activities.
- Ensure Maintenance Management based systems meet OEM and Fortescue standards, identify any opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure Maintenance Supervision and Trade personnel have adequate qualifications and experience, including on site VOC's.
- Lead engaging and informative pre-start briefings with a focus on safety and culture.
- Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and by actively seeking opportunities for in-field safety conversations and coaching.
- Comply with Fortescue work management standards and drive these standards with the team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade Qualified - HD Fitter/Auto Electrician.
- Proven experience successfully leading diverse teams in a mining environment.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor and train a diverse workshop team.
- Extensive large fleet mobile maintenance supervisory experience on a mine site.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written), plus strong organisational, planning and coordination abilities.
- Strong commitment to safety with demonstrated leadership in mining environments.
- Proficient in Excel, SAP, Anaplan and Word.
- Knowledge of Mines Regulations and Act and Occupational, Health and Safety legislation and other relevant legislation and regulations.
