Our Opportunity
Work Location: Cloudbreak mine site (Chichester Hub)
- Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples
Roster: 7D7N/14R FIFO ex. Perth, Broome and Karratha
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent at Cloudbreak, this role will be responsible for all aspects of maintenance functions for all HME fleets. You will be accountable for the planning, organising, supervision and control of personnel.
This position is a leadership role responsible for leading and mentoring a team of trades-based personnel to safely deliver availability and reliability. The key to success in this role is willingly and consistently promoting excellence through application of values and visual leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible safety leadership (lead by example), modelling positive safety behaviours to the team
- Promote rigorous compliance to Zero Harm principles on a daily basis such as ensuring that all works completed are adequately risk assessed and hazards mitigated and adequately controlled
- Ensure all maintenance works and plans are completed and work is carried out in a timely manner to a very high quality
- Ensure all necessary maintenance inspections and audits of the site and related facilities are completed within allocated time frames. Actions arising from those inspections are completed in a satisfactory and planned manner
- Ensure compliance to skills training matrix for self and direct reports
- Conducting field interactions and completing incident investigations in BMS
- Ensure that contractors within your scope of work meet the contractual agreements in place with Fortescue Metals KPI’s regarding quality and safety requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated safety leadership
- Fabrication supervisor experience essential
- Trade qualified (Fabrication)
- At least 5 years’ site based, fixed plant supervisory experience
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills. Having the demonstrated ability to liaise and interact with individuals and groups of varying levels of authority
- High level of organisation skills and an ability to meet deadlines whilst managing multiple functions simultaneously
- Demonstrated computer literacy with all MS Office suite of programs
- Exposure or solid working knowledge of the SAP Maintenance Management System
- Experience with contract and contractor management
