Our Opportunity
Work Location: Solomon Mine
Roster: 7 days, 7 nights on, 14 days off FIFO ex Perth only
Fortescue is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Supervisor to lead and support our weekly mechanical crews across Solomon. Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent, this position is a key leadership role responsible for leading and mentoring a team of mechanical fitters and fabricators to safely carry out weekly planned tasks, breakdown repairs and assisting shutdown teams when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the weekly maintenance crews with a high focus on safety whilst leading by example and displaying the core values
- Detailed daily and weekly written handovers
- Execute the weekly maintenance plans, audit and support plant inspections
- Respond to breakdowns, working in unity with all departments to recover safely and efficiently
- Provide on job support and coaching to personnel, ability to mentor apprentices
- Hazard identification and rectification
Qualifications and Experience
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Training
- Experience in providing leadership and direction to multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in maintaining crushing, screening, pumps and balance machines is highly advantageous
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills, and have the demonstrated ability to liaise and interact with individuals and groups of varying levels of authority
- High level of organizational skills and an ability to meet deadlines whilst managing multiple functions simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, be self-directed and work under minimal supervision
- Strong computer literacy with all MS Office suite of programs and working knowledge of the SAP Maintenance Management System.
- Experience with contract and contractor management
- Trade qualified (Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker) or Engineering degree.
