Supervisor Mine Control
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue HIVE, Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: 4D/4N/8R
Reporting to the Mine Control Superintendent the Mine Control Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the Control Room interaction with Mine Site operations in supporting the decision making process of the Fleet Management System and cost reduction initiatives in line with Site KPI’s.
The Mine Control Supervisor will also provide leadership and direction to all direct reports to ensure that the business and mine plan objectives are met and consistently achieved, in line with the HSR policies. This position may be required to be filled across all sites at any time.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership across the Integrated Control teams to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all accountable systems
- Ensure setup of systems is optimised to deliver maximum safety performance, fleet utilisation, efficiency and meet Mine Plan requirements
- Ensure the Integrated Control team achieves and maintains global best practice standards in the management of accountable fleets and systems
- Ensure system input and outputs are timely and accurate to enable quality reporting
- Compliance to the daily and weekly mine plans
- Ensure compliance to skills training matrix for self and direct reports
- Actively seek and apply coaching, development, and feedback for direct reports to improve performance, safety and increase employee engagement
- Optimise performance by ensuring all direct reports understand their position purpose, key accountabilities, and performance requirements and that these align with individual skill and capability to produce quality outcomes through applied coaching and feedback
- Liaise with key stakeholders to continuously improve operational performance
- Ensure all team activities are aligned with the overall business objectives
- Demonstrate leadership and encourage personal behaviours that uphold FORTESCUEs values
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience working with Fleet Management Systems such as Minestar or similar at advanced user level (Experience in Autonomous Mining Systems is highly desirable)
- Strong understanding of production strategies for large scale Mining Operations
- Proficiency in the operation of Caterpillars MineStar Command System is required
- Experience in successfully leading teams
- Working with a team to actively shape processes and contributing to exceeding safety, culture and production targets
- Problem solving in a dynamic environment
