Work Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

 

Roster: 7D/7N/14R or 7D/7N/7R - FIFO ex Perth, Broome or Karratha.

 

Join Fortescue’s Christmas Creek team as a Mining Supervisor, reporting to the Mining Superintendent. This is an opportunity to lead and develop one of the safest and most efficient Load & Haul teams in open-pit mining. We are seeking a dynamic leader who is technically skilled and passionate about building a high-performing team that aligns with our strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Champion Fortescue’s strong safety values, ensuring a zero-harm work environment.
  • Lead mining operations to deliver safe, efficient and productive outcomes.
  • Coach and mentor team members, fostering their growth and managing development.
  • Conduct regular pit inspections, ensuring adherence to operational standards and compliance requirements.
  • Investigate and report incidents, implementing corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and optimise fleet utilisation to achieve or exceed budgeted productivity and safety goals.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Extensive experience in a supervisory role within mining operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to engage, develop and empower teams.
  • Experience with autonomous mining technology is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mining-related software.
  • In-depth understanding of efficiency drivers in large-scale mining operations.
