Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Cloudbreak mine site (Chichester Hub)

 

  • Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples

 

Roster: 15D/13R FIFO ex. Perth, Karratha, Broome, Port Hedland

 

Reporting to the Superintendent Mechanical Maintenance, this exciting opportunity involves overseeing a team made up of internal fabricator and apprentice, along with embedded contractor fabricators, scaffolders and blast and paint teams.

We are looking for someone with a background in engineering or structural remediation based work to join our team, who has previous experience in a leadership or project management role, with good communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Work with Shutdown team to build execution strategies around structural integrity and schedule accordingly
  • Review / approve SAP notifications and attend weekly planning meetings
  • Manage Work Order Backlog
  • Short term planning to align with yearly structural remediation plan
  • Ensure compliance to operating strategy and defect removal plan
  • Meet with structural engineers to prioritise structural defect elimination and document / provide evidence once removed for closure
  • Meet all responsibilities as outlined in the Health, Safety and Environment Policies;
  • Ensure team skills, knowledge and qualification meet business requirements and legislation. 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in Mining/Heavy Industrial environment 
  • Experience as a Maintenance Supervisor role, or similar leadership position
  • Experience working with safety management systems
  • Knowledge of Mines Regulations and Act and Occupational, Health and Safety legislation and other relevant legislation and regulations
  • Engineering Degree or Trade Qualification
  • Competency in SAP (preferred)
  • Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Project, Word, Power Point (Essential) 
  • Good leadership skills with ability to positively influence people to achieve their targets
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
