Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.
Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth
During this exciting time at Fortescue, with innovation projects changing the way we work in mining, we are seeking an experienced Training Supervisor to lead and coordinate training delivery across our operational workforce.
Based at Christmas Creek, this role plays a key part in supporting frontline capability, ensuring compliance, and maintaining Fortescue’s strong safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of trainers, assessors, and administrators to deliver high-quality training
- Coordinate training schedules, bookings, and logistics to meet operational demands
- Ensure all training and assessment activities comply with Fortescue standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Support and oversee trainers, assessors, and external training providers
- Maintain accurate training records and competency data in relevant systems
- Conduct workforce training needs analysis and assist in curriculum development
- Monitor training effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement
- Liaise with operational leaders to ensure training aligns with workforce plans and operational priorities
- Support verification of competency (VoC) and onboarding processes
- Contribute to safety culture through consistent application of training and compliance standards
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience supervising or coordinating training activities, preferably in a mining/resources/heavy industry environment
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements and competency-based training.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to use training systems, LMS platforms, and reporting tools
- Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork
- Ability to work autonomously
