Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

 

Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth

 

Reporting to the Water Services Coordinator, this position within our Water Services department will support a team to oversee safe, effective and timely maintenance of our water network assets.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Supervisory experience in water management, focusing on:
    • Sump pump and submersible bore pump management
    • Water injection and pond monitoring compliance
    • Water system and SCADA experience
    • Nitrate and Lignite management understanding
    • Manage maintenance of water pipelines and safety systems
    • Environmental water compliance
  • Provide safety leadership, promoting Zero Harm principles and positive safety behaviours.
  • Coach and mentor team members to foster growth and skill development.
  • Ensure contractors meet required standards and agreements.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity.
  • Perform performance reviews to support team success and individual progression.
  • Conduct risk assessments and collaborate with other departments to achieve shared goals.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Supervisory experience in water management, with a thorough understanding of pit dewatering operations including use of sump pumps and bore pumps (S26 desirable).
  • Proven leadership and coaching abilities within a diverse team.
  • Strong organisational skills with a commitment to detail and safety.
  • Proficiency in computer software; SAP, Microsoft Office, Envirosys, BMS.
