Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth or Busselton


Fortescue is seeking a dynamic and passionate Trainer and Assessor with a strong understanding of mining operations to join our Solomon Drill and Blast training Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery Drill and Blast Operations Training and Assessing
  • Delivery of specific Training and assessments including Verification of Competency Assessments
  • Facilitation of classroom-based Training and Inductions
  • Administrative and scheduling duties as required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Current Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment
  • Previous comparable equipment experience
  • Drill and Blast experience including Shotfiring
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Drill and Blast practices and technical systems with the ability to train content in a professional manner
  • Autonomous Drilling System experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Experienced Operator on the following equipment is essential
    • Production drill rigs, DHH and Rotary
    • Stemming  Loaders
    • Stemming Trucks
    • HR water carts
    • Electronic initiating systems for blasting
  • Intermediate/Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite
  • SuccessFactors experience highly regarded
