Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth, Kenwick, Distribution Centre located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Nyoogar people.
Roster: Monday - Friday (6:00am - 4:00pm)
Duration: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
Join Fortescue’s Warehousing and Logistics team and play a key role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods and materials across our operations. This role is heavily focused on forklift operations, freight handling, and compliance with safety and dangerous goods regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient operation of forklifts (up to 16T) for loading and unloading freight.
- Load restraint using chains, straps, and dunnage to ensure compliance with transport regulations.
- Manifesting and processing outgoing freight, ensuring accurate documentation and system updates.
- Handling and storing dangerous goods in accordance with relevant regulations, including completing required paperwork and placarding trailers.
- Ensuring accurate receipting, consolidation, and dispatch of parts and consumables.
- Working collaboratively with warehouse and transport teams to optimize workflows.
- Maintaining a strong safety culture and adhering to all site and legislative requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- High-risk forklift license with experience operating forklifts up to 16T.
- Experience in manifesting freight and completing transport documentation.
- Strong knowledge of load restraint methods, including chains and straps.
- Understanding of dangerous goods handling, including paperwork and placarding.
- Proficiency in SAP for warehouse and freight transactions.
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
