Wireline Operator - Downhole Geophysics

Work Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.
Roster: 8D/6R FIFO ex Perth
Resource Definition are currently seeking applicants for Wireline Operators - Downhole Geophysics.
Reporting to the Christmas Creek Resource Definition Wireline Supervisor, this is an opportunity for an individual to join a pioneering in-house geophysics team committed to transforming orebody knowledge and enhancing operational excellence. As part of our Resource Definition team you will support high quality, safe, and efficient delivery of downhole geophysical services at Christmas Creek.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhering to Fortescue's safety standards and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Safe execution of downhole wireline logging operations, following safe work procedures and standards.
- Assisting in planning of downhole surveys.
- Performing calibrations, minor maintenance and troubleshooting of wireline equipment.
- Interpreting geophysical data and ensuring quality.
- Maintaining accurate and timely field logs and data records.
- Assist with data collection, QA/QC, and transfer of data to technical teams.
- Work collaboratively with site teams and the wireline supervisor to meet operational targets and optimise data acquisition.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 12 months experience in downhole geophysics or wireline logging, ideally in a mining or exploration setting.
- High commitment to safety.
- Previous experience in wireline logging, downhole geophysics or related field.
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
- Familiarity with magsus, gamma, density and resistivity tools.
- Ability to work remotely and independently.
- Western Australian Radiation License required.
- Strong safety focus and teamwork mindset.
- Current manual drivers licence and ability to meet site access requirements.
