Resource Definition are current seeking applicants for a Wireline Supervisor - Downhole Geophysics.
Reporting to the Christmas Creek Resource Definition Superintendent, this is an opportunity for an individual to join a pioneering in-house geophysics team committed to transforming orebody knowledge and enhancing operational excellence. As part of our Resource Definition team you will support high quality, safe, and efficient delivery of downhole geophysical services at Christmas Creek.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Fortescue's vision and values.
- Maintain a strong field presence and provide leadership and be a role model for safety behaviours.
- Lead the safe execution of downhole geophysical logging activities.
- Supervise field operations, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental and radiation protocols.
- Coordinate daily logistics, crew movements, and job planning to meet production schedules.
- Ensure wireline equipment maintenance and calibration schedules are in place and adhered to.
- Provide on the job training, mentoring and performance oversight to wireline operators.
- Liaise with geologists, drill crews, and technical teams to ensure delivery of quality downhole data.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, safety and accountability in field operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in downhole geophysics or wireline logging, ideally in a mining or exploration setting.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in field-based roles.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety, geophysical tools (e.g. density, gamma, resistivity), and data QA/QC.
- Western Australian Radiation License required.
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Manual drivers licence and ability to work in remote locations.
