Roster: 7D/7N/14Off- residential in Hedland OR FIFO ex Perth.
Your Opportunity to Keep Our Rail Network Running Strong
Fortescue is seeking a qualified and safety-focused Electrician to join our Port Hedland Rail Maintenance Team. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing electrical systems across our rail infrastructure, helping to ensure the reliability and safety of one of the most advanced heavy-haul rail networks in the world.
This is a residential role based in Port Hedland with a lifestyle-friendly- perfect for those wanting stability, strong team culture, and the chance to be part of a high-performing maintenance crew.
Key Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, inspections, fault-finding, and repairs on rail signaling infrastructure, wayside equipment, and associated electrical systems.

Support the safe execution of planned and reactive electrical works on the rail corridor.

Assist in upgrades, installations, and commissioning of new rail systems and components.

Work closely with planners, engineers, and other trades to coordinate rail shutdowns and minimise disruptions.

Maintain accurate records of all work performed using SAP and follow Fortescue’s safety systems and reporting processes.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and uphold Fortescue’s values in every task.
Qualifications and Experience

Electrical Trade Qualification with current WA Electrical License

CPR/LVR certification (or willing to obtain)

High Voltage Switching (preferred but not essential)

Rail or heavy industry experience highly regarded

Strong fault-finding skills and commitment to safe work practices

Basic computer skills for reporting and system updates (e.g. SAP)

Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team
