Lead Trainer
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Port Hedland - Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 4D/3R - FIFO ex Perth or Residential
As a Lead Trainer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and competence of our training team in Port Hedland. From coordinating training to maintaining rigorous safety standards, you'll be at the forefront of fostering a culture of excellence and compliance within our organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate comprehensive training programs
- Monitor and update training standards for Port and Rail training
- Provide hands-on support through face-to-face classes and Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments
- Develop, implement, and uphold safe work procedures, prioritizing a culture of safety awareness
- Lead the development and oversight of procedural systems and processes in line with company and legislative requirements
- Conduct regular inspections and task observations to ensure a safe working environment
- Maintain meticulous training and safety records to ensure compliance standards are met consistently
- Coach and mentoring responsibilities to the trainer and assessors
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40120)
- Proven experience in auditing and compliance
- Background in rail operations with a focus on competencies within the industry (desirable)
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Program development and delivery experience
