Drive Long-Term Performance Through Smart Scheduling and Capital Compliance
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused Long Term Maintenance Scheduler to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of our mining operations. In this strategic planning role, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining a 2-5 year shutdown calander with high level Gant project drivers. You’ll collaborate closely with all departments in our port and rail operations reviewing and updating our 10 year capital plan and project framework compliance. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and are passionate about driving sustainable mining outcomes, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
-
Maintain and manage a long-term Gantt schedule, mapping out critical path drivers that influence shutdown durations across a five-year and beyond planning horizon.
-
Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Reliability, and Engineering teams to validate and optimise execution timelines for shutdown projects.
-
Lead schedule review forums to proactively identify, assess, and communicate risks impacting shutdown timeframes and project delivery.
-
Collaborate with long-term planning teams to ensure all shutdown-related maintenance and improvement activities are accurately integrated into broader business plans.
-
Define, allocate, and track ownership of key shutdown drivers across the Shutdown Hub, promoting clarity, accountability, and alignment.
-
Review and confirm project readiness through DCRM (Decision and Capital Review Management) processes for initiatives within the 10-year plan.
-
Participate in Integrated Planning (IP) calendar sessions to validate the scope, timing, and feasibility of projects under development or revision.
-
Chair the 10-Year CAPEX Planning Meeting, guiding assessment of DCRM submissions and supporting accurate long-term capital forecasting for Hedland Operations.
Qualifications and Experience
-
Hands-on knowledge of major fixed plant assets—such as train unloaders, stackers, reclaimers, and shiploaders—and experience planning large-scale component replacements.
-
Proven expertise using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar long-term scheduling tools to deliver complex, multi-year maintenance plans.
-
A solid foundation in maintenance planning, asset lifecycle strategies, and reliability principles, with a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
-
Confidence and capability to lead conversations with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, and Operations—to align planning with execution.
-
Experience in capital planning, forecasting, and budgeting across long-term infrastructure or industrial project portfolios.
-
Familiarity with DCRM or similar capital readiness frameworks, with an ability to assess project maturity and planning gaps.
-
Active participation in Integrated Planning (IP) processes or strategic long-range planning initiatives.
-
Strong critical path analysis skills, with the ability to influence scope, timing, and sequencing to maximise operational efficiency.
-
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills—you know how to turn data into insight and influence at all levels, including senior leadership.
-
Exposure to SAP PM or similar asset management systems in a complex operational environment.
