Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Hedland Operations – Rail.

 

Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

 

Roster: 7D/7N/14R – FIFO ex Perth

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Operating all FMG trains over the expanding FMG Network, shunting, locomotive provisioning, general yard work, carry out minor repairs, vehicle checks and assisting RSM technicians as requested
  • Ensuring that all customer's needs are met regarding the delivery of ore from the mine to port facilities by being flexible and using your initiatives and skills
  • Assisting in coaching and developing the knowledge and skills of lesser experienced operators and trainees

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Heavy haul experience (preferable)
  • A current medical fitness to operate a locomotive
  • A demonstrated commitment to Safety and Safe working
  • A very good ability to problem solve and make decisions
  • Previous experience of working effectively with a limited amount of supervision
  • A current driver’s licence
  • Good computer literacy in MS Office software
  • Cert 4 Locomotive Driving 
  • Ability to pass a Category 1 Safety Critical Worker medical
