Our Opportunity

 

Location: Hedland Operations – Port (FIFO ex Perth or Residential)

 

Roster: 8 Days On / 6 Days Off

 

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Planner to join our Hedland Operations, located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people. This is a key role where you’ll plan preventative and corrective maintenance activities for our mechanical assets across the Port facility.

 

You’ll be the central connector between teams—keeping schedules on track, managing notifications, and driving continuous improvement across operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance plans for mechanical activities.
  • Convert maintenance notifications into actionable work orders.
  • Partner with supervisors and coordinators to define scope, resources, and labour needs.
  • Lead and facilitate planning meetings to ensure alignment across teams.
  • Review and process vendor invoices.
  • Monitor, report, and improve work management KPIs.
  • Mentor and coach maintenance, engineering, and operations teams in effective work management.
  • Apply innovation and initiative to improve performance and reduce costs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Maintenance planning experience within a heavy industry environment.
  • Mechanical trade qualification (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of SAP (essential).
  • Advanced Excel and MS Project skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to interpret work management KPIs and deliver on deadlines and milestones
