Our Opportunity

 

 

Work Location: Port Hedland 

 

  • Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

 

Roster: 4D4N8R - residential in Port Hedland or FIFO

 

Reporting to the Port Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the fixed plant is operated in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Fortescue's Safety initiatives, Visions and Values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Show positive leadership towards the Port Operations
  • Ability to engage with other departments at Port and the supply chain in dealing with issues that may affect company productivity
  • Ensure all hazards/incidents on site are reported and instigate repairs and or removal of risk
  • Ability to look forward and react to ensure product is within specification and production is maximised
  • Generate ideas on how to improve process
  • Complete all operational assignments as outlined in Standard Work Instruction/JHA in a safe and efficient manner
  • Understanding and knowledge of all the equipment and process
  • Identify, fix or control minor defects on all plant and equipment
  • Plan and prioritise tasks effectively to maximise production time (as assigned by Supervisor)
  • Lead & Train a Diverse Workforce
  • Support Supervisor regarding Crew Training, Plant Productivity & Task Delegation  

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive exposure in a mining/mineral or processing facility - (desirable)
  • Shiploading experience - (desirable)
  • Use of computer maintenance and operating programs
  • Proving Ability to Manage a Diverse Workforce
  • Minimum 3 years Fixed Plant or Port Terminals Experience
  • SAP experience
  • Bulk materials handling experience
  • General computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Current WA Drivers Licence (C Class)
  • LF, DG, SB, RB & EWP (desirable)
