Work Location: Port Hedland, Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

 

Roster: 8 days on / 6 days off – FIFO ex Perth or Residentially based in Port Hedland (relocation assistance offered)

As we continue to expand and evolve, we’re seeking a motivated Shutdown Resources Coordinator to join our high-performing Hedland Operations team. Reporting to the Shutdown Execution Coordinator, you will work closely with our Scheduling, Planning, and Execution teams to ensure every shutdown is resourced smoothly, efficiently, and safely. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will help drive exceptional outcomes across our operations.

Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic and hands-on role, you will:

  • Partner with Scheduling, Planning, and Execution teams to coordinate all personnel, equipment, and resources required for shutdowns
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of resource and equipment requirements to vendor partners
  • Coordinate support services and site-based equipment during shutdown execution
  • Maintain and prepare on-site facilities to ensure readiness ahead of every shutdown
  • Process purchase order service entry sheets and maintain accurate documentation
  • Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet KPIs and operational timelines
  • Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to communicate accurate information and ensure seamless execution
  • Develop, track, and maintain budget estimates, timesheets, purchase orders, and invoices

Qualifications and Experience

You’ll bring the capability, drive, and attention to detail needed to excel in a demanding operational environment, including:

  • Previous experience working on mine sites, with exposure to shutdown operations
  • SAP experience (highly advantageous)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel capability (highly advantageous)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels
